HOW DO I DO FOR THE PROBLEM OF BELL TV IN MONTREAL?
?

I lived in south west one apartment of pointe-claire QC.
they recommended me to change bell set-top box. also they guaranteed me free-payment as the choice of basic program.
I selected basic program, but after receiving my bill from bell tv, I had to pay 109.96 with tax.
I couldn't help to pay all of them because of using the pre-authorized payment.
There were many tenants with same problem like me.( but they didn't pay it. because they didn't use pre-authorized....)
Right now ,bell tv told me that my credit was just 56.54....( incredible.....)
That means that bell tv didn't accept my request by telephone when I called bell afer receiving the bill in April 20. neither this month they charged again ....
I am a immigrant. I lived in montreal from last year October...
I am not good at english....
What can I do?....

Not surprisingly, if you call Bell customer service, odds are you will not get someone who's first language was English either.

If I were you, I would call the Better Business Bureau....Bell is notorious for bad service, bad customer service and ridiculous prices and loop holes. Do you know someone who speaks better English and could call them on your behalf? I would perhaps even call city hall and ask to speak to your area rep.....Bell shouldn't be able to get away with taking advantage of people. Maybe that is why there are so many other phone/dish companies now.

You have two problems:

1) You have a dispute over billing with Bell Canada for their Expressvu service.

2) You are having trouble communicating with them due to language differences.

What you need to do is get someone who can speak English (or French) and who can discuss the problem with Bell on your behalf. You want to get across to them your understanding of what you should be being charged and what should not have been charged. You also want to understand what they are saying as to why you were charged and what the charges are for.

The first thing I would do if Bell is refusing to iron things out and you feel they are overcharging you is to call your bank and cancel the pre-authorized payments. If at all possible, I never allow pre-authorized payments because in disputes like this, they already have my money and I have very little bargaining power. Plus, if I have to cancel it, the bank charges me a fee. so no pre-payments if I can help it.

So in summary, get someone who can talk with them to act as a translator. Explain your side, hear their side, and come up with some agreement. Customer service at Bell has really gone down the toilet as they feel they have a monopoly on these services. If you are unhappy with them, I would cancel the contract and walk away. Check with someplace like Quebec Consumer Protection to see what rights you have in regards to any long-term contract you may have signed, or any cancellation fees they want you to pay.

I live in Pointe-Claire too and the exact same thing happened to me! They said the terminal would be free for the first year, and then they started charging me $20/month for it!

I'm going to call them and sort this out.

TIP: whenever you call Bell, choose "French" when they ask you for your language. This more or less ensures that you'll get someone local. They'll most likely be able to serve you in either English or French.
